Description
Baked apples
Ingredients
- Green Apples 4 pieces
- Dried Apricots 0 oz
- Prunes 0 oz
- Raisins 0 oz
- Pistachios 1 tablespoon
- Almond 1 tablespoon
- Walnuts 1 tablespoon
- Cinnamon 1 tablespoon
- Grated Ginger Root a pinch
- Honey to taste
- Maple syrup to taste
- Powdered Sugar to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Bring a cup of water to a boil. Pour it over the dried apricots, prunes, and raisins and let them soak for 15 minutes.
Step 3
Drain the water and finely chop the dried fruits.
Step 4
Chop the almonds and walnuts. Add the cinnamon, ginger powder, and nuts to the dried fruits. Mix everything together.
Step 5
Cut off the top of the apples, just a little bit. Use a teaspoon or a knife to remove the seeds, and scoop out a narrow cavity in the apple. It’s important not to damage the walls of the apples.
Step 6
Prick the apples with a toothpick around the edges. This is to prevent them from bursting while baking.
Step 7
Place the mixture of dried fruits and nuts into the indentations.
Step 8
Wrap each apple in foil, leaving a small opening on top.
Step 9
Preheat the oven to 355°F and bake for 25 minutes. Unwrap the foil and drizzle the apples with maple syrup or honey.
Step 10
If desired, dust with powdered sugar and serve.
