Bacon Envelope
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Milk 5 fl oz
- Chocolate eggs 2 pieces
- Salt to taste
- Sugar 0 oz
- Butter 0 oz
- Bacon 5 oz
- Dry yeast 0 oz
- Hard Cheese 5 oz
- Béchamel sauce 5 fl oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Pour 250 g of milk into a saucepan and heat it to body temperature. Rub the yeast into 500 g of flour until it forms fine crumbs. Then also rub in 60 g of butter, add salt, 40 g of sugar, and then – 2 eggs and the milk. Knead the dough and let it rest, covered, for 1 hour.
Step 2
On a floured surface, form the dough into a ball and roll it out to a thickness of 5 mm. Cut into rectangles measuring 6 by 12 cm. Place 1 tablespoon of béchamel sauce in each rectangle and fold the two opposite ends towards the center. Top with a slice of bacon.
Step 3
Transfer the envelopes to a baking sheet. Cover with parchment paper and let rise for 45 minutes.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 480°F.
Step 5
Brush the open part of the dough with egg. Sprinkle with cheese. Reduce the temperature to 390°F, place the baking sheets in the oven, and bake for 15 minutes.
