Description

You can serve berry syrup, apricot sauce, or sour cream separately in a sauceboat.

Ingredients

  • Apple 20 oz
  • Clarified Butter 3 tablespoons
  • Butter 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar ¼ cup
  • Wheat Flour ½ cup
  • Powdered Sugar 1 tablespoon
  • Chicken Egg 4 pieces
  • Milk 5 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Prepare the batter. For this, melt the butter and mix it in a saucepan with the egg yolks, add a tablespoon of milk, stir in the flour, a tablespoon of sugar, and 0.5 teaspoon of salt, then dilute with the remaining milk. Fold in the whipped egg whites gently from the bottom up to avoid deflating them.

Step 2

Peel and core the apples (Antonovka variety is best), slice them into even circles about 0.5 cm thick, sprinkle with sugar, and let them sit for 25–30 minutes. After that, take each apple slice with a fork, dip it in the prepared batter, and place it in a skillet with heated oil. Fry the apples over low heat until they are golden brown on both sides.

Step 3

Place the skillet with the apples in the oven for 5 minutes at medium heat.

Step 4

Arrange the finished apples on a plate or dish, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and serve.
