Description

Apple Pie with Nutmeg

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour 0 oz
  • Puff Pastry 20 oz
  • Sugar ¾ glasses
  • Granny Smith apples 12 pieces
  • Lemon 1 piece
  • Ground Cinnamon 1½ spoons
  • Ground Nutmeg ½ spoons
  • Butter 2 spoons
  • Ground clove a pinch
  • Chicken Egg 1 piece

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly dust the counter with flour, divide the dough into two equal parts, and roll out two even circles, each 5 mm thick and 27-28 cm in diameter (so that the circles are slightly smaller than a 30 cm pie dish). Place one circle of dough at the bottom of the pie dish and gently press the edges against the sides. Transfer the second circle onto parchment paper and carefully cover it with plastic wrap. Put all the dough in the refrigerator for half an hour.

Step 2

In a large bowl, thoroughly mix the peeled and sliced apples, sugar, lemon zest and juice, spices, and two tablespoons of flour. Spoon the filling onto the dough in the baking dish, spreading small pieces of butter evenly over the top, and then cover the pie with a second round of dough. Make a cross-shaped slit in the center. Seal the edges of the pie.

Step 3

Lightly beat the egg with a fork and use a pastry brush to coat the surface of the pie. Sprinkle a small amount of sugar on top.

Step 4

Bake for an hour until a golden crust forms. Before serving, let it cool on a wire rack.
