Apple Pie on a Stick
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Salt ¼ teaspoon
- Sugar 5 teaspoons
- Butter 10 oz
- Water 5 fl oz
- Jam 5 oz
- Whole egg 1 piece
- Milk 1 teaspoon
- Powdered Sugar to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 345°F.
Step 2
Place the flour, salt, and sugar in a mixing bowl and whisk together.
Step 3
Add the butter and mix well until the mixture resembles coarse bread crumbs.
Step 4
Slowly pour in ¼ cup of water. The dough should stick together in your hands. Add more water if necessary. Mix for another 30 seconds. Place the dough in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for about 20 minutes.
Step 5
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thin layer (3–5 mm).
Step 6
Use a cookie cutter (flour it) to cut out shapes from the dough.
Step 7
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the cut dough circles on the baking sheet and insert a wooden stick into each one.
Step 8
Finely chop the apples and mix with cinnamon (you can add a little sugar).
Step 9
Place 0.5 teaspoon of jam on a dough circle, add the apples, and then cover with a second dough circle.
Step 10
Seal the two circles so that the filling does not leak out.
Step 11
Brush the finished pie with egg yolk.
Step 12
Make 3 small holes on the top side of the pie with a sharp knife or fork.
Step 13
Bake in the preheated oven at 345°F for 20–25 minutes (until golden brown).
