Description
Apple-Pear Compote with Oranges and Chocolate Cookies
Ingredients
- Apple 6 pieces
- Pears 2 pieces
- Meyer Lemon Juice 0 fl oz
- Oranges 2 pieces
- Cinnamon 0 oz
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Cocoa Powder 0 oz
- Powdered Sugar 0 oz
- Egg white 1 piece
- Salt a pinch
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Wash and dry the oranges. Zest half an orange and squeeze the juice from both oranges.
Step 2
In a large pot, bring the juice and zest to a boil with sugar and cinnamon. Cook for 5 minutes over medium heat.
Step 3
Wash, dry, peel, and dice the apples and pears. Drizzle the fruits with lemon juice.
Step 4
Add the fruits to the pot with the orange juice, bring to a boil, and simmer uncovered over low heat for about 20 minutes. The apples and pears should become soft, and the juice should reduce almost completely.
Step 5
Serve the compote with cottage cheese or sour cream.
Step 6
For the chocolate cookies, preheat the oven to 355°F. Soften the butter. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 7
Beat the softened butter with powdered sugar and a pinch of salt until fluffy. In a separate bowl, whip the egg white and gently fold it into the butter mixture, continuing to beat. Gradually mix in the cocoa powder and flour. Stir until a uniform dough forms.
Step 8
Fill a piping bag with the dough and pipe cookies onto the baking sheet in a spiral shape, leaving about 2 cm between each cookie.
Step 9
Bake the cookies for 10 minutes. Transfer the finished cookies to a wire rack and let them cool completely.
