Description
You can use any nuts. The main thing is that the oil is from the same type of nuts.
Ingredients
- Green Apples 1 piece
- Sugar 5 oz
- Rum 2 tablespoons
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Baking Powder 2 teaspoons
- Ground Cinnamon 1 teaspoon
- Grated Ginger Root ¼ teaspoon
- Walnuts 5 fl oz
- Chocolate eggs 2 pieces
- Walnuts 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 355°F (320°F with fan). Grease and flour an 18 cm round baking pan.
Step 2
Peel the apples and remove the cores, then chop them coarsely. Mix with 2 tablespoons of sugar and rum in a small bowl and set aside.
Step 3
In a large bowl, sift the flour with the baking powder, spices, and a pinch of salt. In a small bowl, whisk the eggs with the remaining sugar and oil. Pour the egg mixture into the bowl with the flour and gently mix with a folding motion. Add the nuts and apples along with the rum.
Step 4
Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for about 50 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick. Cool on a rack, dust with powdered sugar, and serve.
