Apple Mint Pie
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Baking Powder 2 teaspoons
- Salt to taste
- Sugar 20 oz
- Activated Baking Soda ½ teaspoon
- Margarine 0 oz
- Milk 5 fl oz
- Clear Apple Juice 5 fl oz
- Egg white 6 pieces
- Vanilla salt to taste
- Water 0 fl oz
- Cream of tartar ½ teaspoon
- Mint Leaves ½ teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 175°C.
Step 2
Mix the flour with baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Beat the softened margarine with 300 g of sugar. While continuing to beat, add the apple puree, milk, 4 egg whites, and vanilla. Combine the flour mixture with the apple mixture.
Step 3
Grease a baking pan with oil. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 35-40 minutes. Allow the baked layer to cool and cut it into 2 layers.
Step 4
To prepare the mint filling, dissolve the sugar in water, add the egg whites and cream of tartar, and cook over a double boiler for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, add the mint extract, and whip thoroughly.
Step 5
Layer the cake with part of the filling, and cover the surface of the cake with the remaining filling.
Step 6
Chill the finished pie in the refrigerator.
