Description
Apple, Mango, and Papaya Pie
Ingredients
- Butter 5 oz
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Powdered Sugar 0 oz
- Water 0 fl oz
- Large eggs 1 piece
- Apple 10 oz
- Brown Sugar 5 oz
- Ground Cinnamon 1 teaspoon
- Vanilla salt 0 oz
- Canned Peaches 5 oz
- Papaya flesh 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
First, we make the dough, which is similar to shortcrust pastry. Cut the butter into cubes and let it sit for a while (10 minutes).
Step 2
Carefully add the flour and rub it with the butter until you get flour-butter balls.
Step 3
Now make a well in the center and add the egg and powdered sugar (you can also add a bit of cinnamon) and start mixing. When the dough becomes sticky, add a little water and knead. You should get a non-sticky ball.
Step 4
Place it in a bag and put it in the refrigerator for 30–40 minutes.
Step 5
Now for the delicious part — the filling. Peel the apples and cut them into cubes, mix with the other fruits or raisins (it’s better to soak the raisins beforehand).
Step 6
Place everything in a saucepan, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, and add a little water, about 100 ml, and start cooking. Cook for about 5 minutes until the aroma fills the kitchen. A little secret — if the filling turns out to be too liquid, just add 1 tablespoon of flour and quickly mix to avoid lumps (that's my secret).
Step 7
Let the filling cool a bit.
Step 8
Prepare a baking dish by greasing it with butter.
Step 9
Take the dough out of the refrigerator and roll it out to a thickness of 1–1.5 cm, covering the entire dish, including the edges. Leave a bit of dough for the top! The top should be thin, about 0.5 cm.
Step 10
Place the dish with the bottom dough in a preheated oven at 355°F (356 degrees Fahrenheit) to bake it a little. By the way, to prevent the dough from puffing up, you can poke it with a fork in several places.
Step 11
The bottom crust will bake for about 10 minutes.
Step 12
Remove it and fill it with the filling, then cover it with the top and pinch the edges slightly.
Step 13
Put it back in the oven for another 10–15 minutes. The pie is ready when the top is light brown (don't miss the moment, or it will dry out!).
Step 14
Take it out, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and wait.... Serve completely cooled!
