Description
Blackcurrant juice can be squeezed from frozen berries or substituted with blackcurrant jam.
Ingredients
- Apple 40 oz
- Water 25 fl oz
- Red Grape Juice 15 fl oz
- Dry White Wine 0 fl oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Meyer Lemon Juice 0 fl oz
- Blackcurrant liqueur 0 fl oz
- Cinnamon 1 piece
- Fresh Berries to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Peel the apples, remove the cores, and slice them.
Step 3
Transfer the apples to a pot, cover with water, and simmer with a cinnamon stick for about 30–40 minutes on low heat until tender.
Step 4
Remove the cinnamon stick.
Step 5
Without draining the water, blend the contents of the pot with an immersion blender.
Step 6
Pass the puree through a sieve.
Step 7
Add sugar, wine, lemon juice, and currant juice to the pot.
Step 8
Return to the stove, bring to a boil, and cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 9
Pour into dessert cups and refrigerate for 24 hours.
Step 10
Serve garnished with fresh berries or fruits.
