  • Dry yeast 1 tablespoon

  • Honey 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon 1 teaspoon
  • Apple 1 piece
  • Wheat Flour 3 cups
  • Salt ½ teaspoon
  • Butter 2 tablespoons

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Mix the yeast with warm milk, honey, and grated apple (along with the juice released), and whisk together. Add the softened butter, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add the sifted flour.

Step 2

Knead until smooth. Form the dough into a ball, place it in a bowl, and cover with a cloth. Let the dough rise for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.

Step 3

Once the dough has risen, transfer it to a floured surface. Roll the dough into a rope and cut it into 12 pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and tie it into a double knot.

Step 4

Place the twists on a baking sheet, cover with a cloth, and let them rise for about 30 minutes.

Step 5

Bake in a preheated oven at 355°F (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for 30 minutes.

Step 6

Sprinkle the finished twists with powdered sugar.
