Apple Donuts with Caramel
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 1¼ cups
- Baking Powder 2 teaspoons
- Ground Cinnamon ½ teaspoon
- Salt ½ teaspoon
- Farm fresh eggs 2 pieces
- Brown Sugar 1 cup
- Granulated sugar ½ cup
- Vanilla extract 2 teaspoons
- Vegetable Oil ½ cup
- Apple 3 pieces
- Milk 1 tablespoon
- Small Caramels 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Peel the apples and grate them. Preheat the oven to 345°F. Spray a donut pan with cooking spray and set aside.
Step 2
In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
Step 3
Add the vegetable oil and vanilla extract, and whisk. Add the flour mixture and stir until well combined. Fold in the grated apples.
Step 4
Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity completely.
Step 5
Bake the donuts until golden brown, about 15–20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 6
In a small bowl, combine the caramels and milk. Microwave on medium power for 1 minute and stir. Repeat until the caramels are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
Step 7
If you made small donuts, dip them directly into the caramel. If you made large donuts, drizzle the caramel over them with a spoon.
