Description

Apple Dessert with Streusel

Ingredients

  • Apple 0 lbs
  • Water 5 fl oz
  • Cinnamon 1 piece
  • Ground clove 3 pieces
  • Sugar 1 tablespoon
  • Salt a pinch
  • Mayonnaise 1 tablespoon
  • Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Cinnamon 0 oz
  • Wheat Flour 5 oz
  • Whole egg 1 piece
  • Margarine 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Peel the apples and remove the cores, then cut them into pieces.

Step 2

Melt 1 cup of sugar and 150 ml of water in a pan, add the cinnamon stick and 3 cloves, and cook until caramelized to a golden color.

Step 3

Place the apples in the pan with the caramel, mix thoroughly, and depending on the variety of apples, cook them until al dente (partially cooked).

Step 4

Transfer the filling to a colander to drain the juice. Remove the cinnamon stick and cloves from the apples. Let cool.

Step 5

In a bowl, mix the sifted flour, salt, and baking powder, then add very cold margarine or butter cut into small pieces, 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise, the yolk, and 1 tablespoon of sugar, chopping with a knife and mixing until crumbly. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.

Step 6

Grease a baking dish (preferably ceramic, as the dish is served in the same form it was baked) with a small piece of butter, layer the apples, sprinkle with ground cinnamon, and top with the streusel.

Step 7

Bake for 25–30 minutes until a golden crust forms at a temperature of 390°F.
