Apple Cinnamon Cake with Sour Cream Topping
Baking and Desserts • World
Description
Always keep an eye on the baking process, as ovens vary in their characteristics; my cake was ready in 15 minutes. I used 6% vinegar, so there was no need to dilute it and worry about bitterness in the cake. I added the baking soda directly from the bottle; 6% allows for that. That's why I love this vinegar.
Ingredients
- Farm fresh eggs 3 pieces
- Sugar 5½ tablespoons
- Butter 5 oz
- Honey 1½ tablespoons
- Activated Baking Soda 1 teaspoon
- Wheat Flour 1 cup
- Cinnamon to taste
- 20% Sour Cream 3 tablespoons
- Apple Cider Vinegar 1½ tablespoons
- Apple 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Beat the eggs with three tablespoons of sugar and cinnamon, then add the baking soda directly into the bowl with the eggs.
Step 2
While beating the eggs, melt the honey and butter (between 80 and 100 grams) on the stove.
Step 3
Add 1.5 cups of flour to the eggs, then the melted mixture of butter and honey. The batter should be thick and yellow.
Step 4
Peel the apple, cut it into small cubes, and add them to the batter. Mix well.
Step 5
Preheat the oven well, pour the mixture into a baking dish, and bake at 355°F for 15–20 minutes.
Step 6
Whip the sour cream with the remaining sugar, sprinkle with cinnamon, and drizzle the topping over the sliced cake.
