Ingredients

  • Apple 20 oz
  • Milk 10 fl oz
  • White bread 10 oz
  • Sugar 5 oz
  • Egg white 1 piece
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Citrus Zest Mix to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Cut the crusts off the white bread, slice it into thin pieces, and cut part of the bread into cubes and toast them slightly.

Step 2

Mix the milk, raw egg, and 2 tablespoons of sugar, and whisk lightly. Peel the apples, remove the seeds, cut them into cubes, and sprinkle with sugar.

Step 3

Grease a baking dish or skillet with a thick layer of butter. Soak the slices of white bread in the beaten egg mixture and line the bottom and sides of the dish or skillet with them.

Step 4

Drizzle the toasted bread cubes with butter and mix with the apples. Add a little grated lemon zest or vanilla. Place the apple and bread cube mixture in the center of the dish, filling it to the edges. Cover the top with slices of bread soaked in the beaten egg mixture, and bake in the oven at medium heat for 40–50 minutes.

Step 5

Let the finished pudding sit in the dish for 10 minutes, then transfer to a plate, and if desired, decorate with canned fruit and drizzle with fruit sauce. Serve the pudding hot.
