American Chocolate Chip Cookies
Baking and Desserts • American
Description
If the eggs are large, one will be quite enough. Regular chocolate here replaces special baking chocolate chips: if you use them, the simple process becomes even easier.
Ingredients
- Butter 5 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Vanilla salt to taste
- Chicken Egg 2 pieces
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Salt a pinch
- Activated Baking Soda ¼ spoons
- Bittersweet Chocolate 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Place the chocolate in the refrigerator for 30–60 minutes. Beat the butter and sugar with a mixer until creamy. Add the eggs and beat again.
Step 2
Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and vanilla sugar. Add to the butter and egg mixture and mix using a spatula.
Step 3
Chop the cold chocolate into small pieces and add it to the dough. Mix with a spatula until the chocolate is evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Step 4
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and drop the dough in balls using a tablespoon (an ice cream scoop works perfectly), leaving about 2–3 inches between each.
Step 5
Bake for 9–11 minutes at 375°F until golden brown. The freshly baked cookies will be soft. They should be allowed to cool, at which point they will firm up to the desired consistency.
