American Carrot Cake
Ingredients
- Sugar 1 cup
- Farm fresh eggs 3 pieces
- Vegetable Oil 1 cup
- Turnips 10 oz
- Wheat Flour 1 cup
- Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
- Ground Cinnamon a pinch
- Semi-soft cream cheese 10 oz
- Vanillin to taste
- Butter 0 oz
- Powdered Sugar 2 tablespoons
- Ground Nutmeg a pinch
- Salt a pinch
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Beat the vegetable oil with sugar using a mixer. While beating, add the eggs one at a time.
Step 2
Mix the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and gently incorporate this mixture into the eggs. Add the grated carrots and mix thoroughly.
Step 3
Divide the batter into 2 parts. Take 2 round baking pans, grease them with vegetable oil, and line the bottom with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the pans and bake until done.
Step 4
Prepare the frosting: beat the butter with the cream cheese, add the powdered sugar and vanillin, and mix well.
Step 5
Cool the baked layers, remove the parchment, spread the frosting on the layers, and stack one layer on top of the other. Decorate with nuts or chocolate shavings.
Step 6
Refrigerate to allow the cake to soak.
