American Carrot Cake

Ingredients

  • Carrot 10 oz
  • Sugar 5 oz
  • Egg white 2 pieces
  • Vegetable Oil 5 fl oz
  • Wheat Flour 5 oz
  • Nuts 5 oz
  • Vanillin ¼ teaspoon
  • Cinnamon ¼ teaspoon
  • Baking Powder ½ teaspoon
  • Salt a pinch
  • Semi-soft cream cheese 5 oz
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Powdered Sugar 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Take the butter out of the refrigerator, cut it into thin pieces, and set aside.

Step 2

Peel the carrots and grate them finely.

Step 3

Preheat the oven to 340°F.

Step 4

Mix the eggs, vegetable oil, sugar, vanillin, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt, along with the baking powder, flour, and crushed nuts (any type can be used, but walnuts are best).

Step 5

Once a homogeneous mixture is achieved, add the grated carrots and mix again.

Step 6

Line the bottom of a mold with a diameter of about 17–20 cm with parchment paper, pour the mixture into it, rotate the mold (to avoid a high mound in the center), and place it in the oven for 40–50 minutes.

Step 7

When it's done, turn off the oven, open the door, and leave it for another 10 minutes.

Step 8

Remove from the mold after about 30 minutes, not earlier, by flipping it onto a plate.

Step 9

Prepare the frosting by mixing the powdered sugar, cream cheese, and butter.

Step 10

Once the cake has completely cooled, cut it lengthwise into two or more layers (as much as your patience allows) and spread frosting between the layers.

Step 11

You can sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
