Baking and Desserts • Kazakhstani
Description
Dried plums contain 9–17% sugars – fructose, glucose, sucrose; organic acids – malic, citric, oxalic, and a little salicylic; pectin; tannins and nitrogenous substances; vitamins A, C, B1, B2, P; and minerals – a large amount of potassium and phosphorus, with less sodium, calcium, magnesium, and iron. Dried plums are rich in iron and other vitamins, making them very beneficial for vitamin deficiencies and anemia (especially iron deficiency anemia).
