Almond cake with honey and oranges
Ingredients
- Butter 10 oz
- Powdered Sugar 10 oz
- Citrus Zest Mix 0 oz
- Ground Almonds 10 oz
- Chicken Egg 3 pieces
- Corn Flour for Polenta 5 oz
- Baking Powder 1 tablespoon
- Honey 5 oz
- Salt a pinch
- Oranges 5 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Line a baking dish with parchment paper. Beat the butter, powdered sugar, and lemon zest until light and fluffy, then fold in the almonds. Add the eggs, and mix in the cornmeal, baking powder, and salt. Pour the mixture into the prepared dish and bake at 340°F (340 degrees Fahrenheit) for 45–50 minutes. Let cool.
Step 2
Grate the zest of one orange. Place the sections of all five orange wedges, peeled of their membranes, into a bowl. Squeeze the juice from the removed membranes into a saucepan, add the zest and honey, and cook for a minute. Let it cool and pour it over the wedges.
Step 3
Serve the cake with slices, drizzled with syrup.
