Ingredients
- Almond ½ cup
- Salt ½ teaspoon
- Sugar ¾ cup
- Butter 10 oz
- Egg white 1 piece
- Wheat Flour 1¼ cups
- Almond 1 teaspoon
- Chopped almonds 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a food processor, combine almond paste, salt, and 0.25 cup of sugar. Mix well.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 355°F (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Line a rectangular baking dish with foil and grease it with butter.
Step 3
Using a mixer, beat the softened butter with the remaining sugar until creamy. Add the almond paste, egg yolk, and almond extract. Mix well again. Reduce the mixer speed and gradually add the flour. Transfer the dough to the prepared dish.
Step 4
Lightly beat the egg white and brush it over the dough. Sprinkle sliced almonds on top.
Step 5
Bake until golden and cooked through, about 35-40 minutes. Cool in the dish for 1 hour, then transfer to a cutting board. Cut into squares or rectangles.
