Description

Adjarian Khachapuri is a delicious Georgian dish made from a boat-shaped bread filled with a mixture of cheese, eggs, and butter. This savory delight is typically served hot and is perfect for sharing. Enjoy it as a comforting meal at home or in a cozy American restaurant.

Ingredients

  • Chicken Egg 1 piece
  • Unleavened dough 5 oz
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Suluguni Cheese 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Roll out the dough on a wooden board or directly on the table, dusting it with flour.

Step 2

Place grated Suluguni cheese in the center.

Step 3

Pinch the edges of the dough, starting from the ends towards the center. Smooth the seam carefully.

Step 4

Flip the khachapuri to the other side, make a few small holes to prevent the dough from tearing, and gently roll it out with a rolling pin without applying too much pressure.

Step 5

Cut a slit in the top of the khachapuri with a sharp knife. Tuck the edges of the opening to create an oval hole in the center of the khachapuri. Bake in the oven for 15–20 minutes at a temperature of 220–445°F until golden brown.

Step 6

Crack an egg on top and place the khachapuri in the oven for another 5–7 minutes.
