Description
'Swaddling Tea' can be steeped 4-5 times. If you don't have some of the spices, the entire set is not critical – you will still end up with a fragrant, gentle, cleansing, and restorative tea. The proportions given are relative and determined by personal preferences.
Ingredients
- Water 25 fl oz
- Turmeric a pinch
- Star anise 1 piece
- Fennel Seeds ½ teaspoon
- Cumin Seeds ½ teaspoon
- Fenugreek Seeds ½ teaspoon
- Ginger ½ teaspoon
- Chili Pepper 1 piece
- Cinnamon stick 1 piece
- Cardamom Pods 5 pieces
- Black peppercorns 5 pieces
- Nutmeg a pinch
- Cloves 2 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Gather all the necessary spices.
Step 2
Boil the water and wait for it to cool to 85-195°F.
Step 3
While the water is cooling, mix the spices in a separate bowl. Transfer them to a teapot or a tea strainer.
Step 4
Pour the water over the spices, and after 3 minutes, the tea is ready. Assess the blend – you may want to make a stronger, milder, or spicier version.
