  • Ground Black Pepper ½ teaspoon
  • White vinegar 1 teaspoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

To prepare the spicy onion salad, place the onion and green onion in a medium-sized bowl and cover with cold water. Let it sit until the green onion starts to curl (at least 20 minutes).

Step 2

Meanwhile, mix the Korean pepper, sugar, teaspoon of salt, ½ teaspoon of black pepper, and one tablespoon of water in a medium-sized bowl. Let it sit, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the sauce starts to shine (about 10 minutes).

Step 3

Drain the onion and green onion, and place them in the bowl with the sauce. Add the vinegar and mix well, seasoning with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.
