  • 1% Kefir 30 fl oz
  • Mini Chocolate Chips to taste
  • Cardamom 10 pieces
  • Spices ½ teaspoon
  • Cinnamon 2 pieces
  • Ground Black Pepper ½ teaspoon
  • Brown Sugar 5 tablespoons
  • Grated Ginger Root 6 pieces
  • Grated Ginger Root ½ teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
  • Whipped Cream 5 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Combine the milk, chocolate chips, cardamom, spices, broken cinnamon sticks, black pepper, 4 tablespoons of brown sugar, and pieces of ginger in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, cover, and let sit for 10 minutes. Stir in half of the vanilla.

Step 2

Meanwhile, whip the cream with the remaining brown sugar, grated ginger, and vanilla in a small bowl until stiff peaks form.

Step 3

Strain the hot chocolate and pour it into 6 cups. Top with ginger cream.
