Description

Salad with Apple and Cider in Melted Camembert Cheese Sauce

Ingredients

  • Apple 5 oz
  • Romaine lettuce 1 piece
  • Arugula 0 oz
  • Camembert cheese 10 oz
  • Sour Cream 2 tablespoons
  • Cider 1 tablespoon
  • Rye Bread 0 oz
  • Olive Oil 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic 1 clove

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Cut the bread into small cubes, place in a bowl, add olive oil and minced garlic, and mix thoroughly. Spread the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes at 355°F until golden brown. Let cool.

Step 2

Mix the leaves of romaine lettuce and arugula, and place them on plates. Slice the apples without peeling and place them in a separate bowl, drizzle with cider. After that, dry the apples and place them on the lettuce leaves.

Step 3

Cut the chilled cheese in half, peel it, separating the rind from the soft part. Then place it in a small saucepan, add sour cream, and set over low heat. Heat for 3–4 minutes, constantly whisking, until a smooth mixture is obtained. Add cider if the cheese is not aged. An important point is that the cheese should melt but not boil.

Step 4

Evenly drizzle the salad with the dressing and garnish with croutons. Serve immediately.
