Ingredients
- Herring 2 pieces
- Onion 1 piece
- Potato 4 pieces
- Chicken Egg 4 pieces
- Carrot 3 pieces
- Beetroot 10 oz
- Mayonnaise 10 oz
- Scallions to taste
- Dill to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients. Boil the vegetables and eggs until fully cooked.
Step 2
Finely chop the dill and green onions.
Step 3
Chop the onion into small cubes and blanch them in boiling water.
Step 4
Prepare the herring by removing the bones and skin. Cut it into small cubes.
Step 5
Grate the potatoes on a coarse grater, and grate the beetroot and carrots on a fine grater.
Step 6
Grate the eggs using a fine grater. Grate one yolk separately, as it will be needed for decoration.
Step 7
Layer half of the potatoes at the bottom of the salad bowl and spread mayonnaise over them. Next, add half of the chopped herring and half of the sliced onions.

Arrange the remaining potatoes, spread mayonnaise on top, and then add a layer of eggs, also spreading mayonnaise over it.
Step 9
Next, layer the remaining herring and onions, and spread mayonnaise over them. Then, distribute the grated carrots and add another layer of mayonnaise.
Step 10
At the very end, add the grated beetroot and spread mayonnaise on top. Place the salad in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Step 11
Serve garnished with chopped green onions and grated egg yolk.
