Description
One of the most interesting representatives of the fix family, which are cocktails made with strong alcohol, syrup, and lemon juice. The recipe first appeared in the book by bartender John Smith, 'The Complete Bartender', published in 1884.
Ingredients
- Dark rum 0 fl oz
- Pineapple 0 fl oz
- Meyer Lemon Juice 0 fl oz
- Gingerbread-flavored syrup 0 fl oz
- Pineapple 1 piece
- Mint to taste
- Angostura 0 fl oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Pour the rum, pineapple syrup, and sugar syrup into a shaker filled with ice, and squeeze in the juice of a lemon. Shake well.
Step 2
Strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with mint and pineapple (which should be peeled). Add a dash of bitters.
