Description

The amount of rosehips can be adjusted according to preference. A total of 3 servings is indicated because 2.5 liters of the resulting compote is just enough for my family for one evening.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Rose Hips 5 oz
  • Pickled Apples 5 oz
  • Honey 1½ tablespoons
  • Water 5 qt

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Place a pot with drinking water (3 l) on the stove and bring the water to a boil.

Step 2

Then add the rosehips and dried apples to the boiling water, and cook the compote for at least 30 minutes.

Step 3

Cover the finished compote tightly with a lid and let it steep for about an hour.

Step 4

Strain the compote; the berries and apples will no longer be needed.

Step 5

Add 1-2 tablespoons of honey to the slightly cooled drink (it is said to be healthier than regular sugar).

Step 6

Serve the compote either cold or warm.
