Description
The prepared brew can be stored in the refrigerator in a glass container for up to a week.
Ingredients
- Grated Ginger Root 5 oz
- Brown Sugar ¾ cup
- Lemon 1 piece
- Green peppercorns 4 pieces
- Sparkling water 0 qt
- Water 2 cups
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Peel the ginger root and grate it on a fine grater or chop it in a blender.
Step 2
Pour 2 cups of water into a pot, add the ginger, 3–5 black peppercorns, and the lemon peel. Bring to a boil and simmer on low heat with the lid on for 10 minutes.
Step 3
Add the sugar.
Step 4
Stirring occasionally, cook for another 15 minutes, until the liquid reduces to 1.5 cups.
Step 5
Strain.
Step 6
Cool down.
Step 7
Transfer to a glass container.
Step 8
Mix with sparkling water in a 1/4 ratio.
