Ingredients
- Apple 0 lbs
- Orange 1 piece
- Water 0 qt
- Cloves 10 pieces
- Black peppercorns 6 pieces
- Cinnamon sticks 3 pieces
- Star anise 2 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Choose sweet and fragrant apples. If the natural sweetness of the apples is insufficient, you can add 500 ml of unsweetened apple juice or another sweetener to taste.
Step 2
Cut the apples and the orange into small pieces, cover with water, bring to a boil over high heat.
Step 3
Add the spices, simmer for 5 minutes, then reduce the heat to low and let it stew for 20–30 minutes.
Step 4
Remove from heat, mash slightly with a potato masher, and strain. In this case, it is preferable to use cheesecloth to squeeze out additional liquid from the apples (be careful, it's hot!).
Step 5
Allow the apples to cool.
Step 6
The finished drink can be garnished with cranberries or pomegranate seeds.
