Ingredients
- Red port 25 fl oz
- Sugar 7 teaspoons
- Lemon ½ piece
- Water 5 fl oz
- Ground Nutmeg ½ teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Use a vegetable peeler to remove the zest from half a lemon and finely chop it.
Step 2
In a saucepan, combine the port wine, sugar, and lemon zest. Place over medium heat and heat thoroughly while stirring, without bringing it to a boil.
Step 3
Remove the saucepan from the heat and add hot water to the port wine, stir, and pour into glass cups.
Step 4
Serve hot, with a light sprinkle of nutmeg.
