Description

This is an amazing combination! The tonic has a slight bitterness and tartness, making it incredibly refreshing—it's truly one of the most summery drinks. The matcha adds color to the lemonade and makes it healthy, plus it contributes a herbal aroma and flavor. It's the simplest and lightest discovery in the theme of product fusion. Perfect. This recipe was shared by a chef-barista from a popular café.

Ingredients

  • Matcha 0 oz
  • Tonic 5 fl oz
  • Ice 5 oz
  • Water 0 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Add the matcha tea to the bowl, sifting it through a fine mesh strainer to break up any large clumps.

Step 2

Add 30 ml of hot water (65–160°F) to the matcha, stirring gradually.

Step 3

Whisk the tea using W-shaped movements with a whisk or milk frother until a thick foam forms.

Step 4

Add ice to the glass, then tonic.

Step 5

Carefully and gradually pour the matcha into the glass to create a gradient effect (layers).
