Description

Masala chai with milk is a fragrant and spiced tea blend that combines black tea, aromatic spices, and creamy milk. This comforting beverage is perfect for warming up on a chilly day, and its rich flavors make it a favorite among tea lovers. Enjoy it in a cozy café or at home, just like you would at a local American coffee shop.

Ingredients

  • Milk 1 glass
  • Water ½ glasses
  • Cardamom 5 pieces
  • Cardamom 1 piece
  • Black tea 1 tablespoon
  • Green peppercorns 2 pieces
  • Grated Ginger Root 1 piece
  • Clove 2 pieces
  • Ground Nutmeg a pinch
  • Ground Cinnamon ½ spoons
  • Honey to taste
  • Sugar to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

First, we prepare a masala spice mix. For this, peel the ginger root and grate about 1–2 cm on a coarse grater.

Step 2

Crush the cardamom and remove the seeds, then grind them together with the other ingredients (excluding ginger) into a powder using a coffee grinder or mortar and pestle.

Step 3

Combine the milk with water and bring to a boil. Add the spices and simmer for 2–3 minutes over low heat. Sweeten to taste with honey or sugar. I usually add a teaspoon of honey.

Step 4

Add the tea (granulated or loose leaf) and simmer on low heat for another 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and let it steep for 5 minutes. Strain into cups and enjoy the wonderful flavor of masala chai.
