Description

This fish is called melva in Spain. It closely resembles small tuna or large mackerel. Of course, you can use any other fish in this recipe. Instead of button mushrooms, large portobello caps work well. During cooking, periodically wipe the surface of the pan to remove any burnt bits and moisture. And no oil!

Ingredients

  • Mackerel 1 piece
  • Tomatoes 2 pieces
  • Green onion tops 1 piece
  • Orange Bell Peppers 1 piece
  • Fresh Mushrooms 6 pieces
  • Mild Chili Spice 1 piece
  • Ciabatta 2 pieces

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Remove the head, fins, and bones from the fish. Cut off the belly, and remove the skin. Salt the resulting fillet.

Step 2

Prepare the vegetables. Slice the young green onion and tomatoes into 1 cm thick rings, cut the mushrooms into thick slices, and the peppers into thin strips.

Step 3

On a hot ridged skillet, sequentially grill the vegetables as you would on a grill. Then grill the sliced bread, followed by the tuna fillet (1.5 minutes on one side, and only 1 minute on the other). Serve immediately.
