Ingredients

  • Burdock root 5 oz
  • Onion 1 head
  • Vegetable Oil to taste
  • Soy Sauce to taste
  • Yannem 1 teaspoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Soak the young burdock stems in water overnight.

Step 2

Boil in salted water for about 20 minutes.

Step 3

Cut into pieces (size does not matter).

Step 4

Slice the onion into half rings and lightly sauté in vegetable oil, then add the burdock stems. Sauté lightly or simmer covered for about 5 minutes, then add soy sauce, about 1 tablespoon, but no more, as it is very salty. Simmer for another 5 minutes and add yannem. Remove from heat, let cool. You can add a bit of sugar or ajinomoto (monosodium glutamate).
