Description

In addition to cloves, you can add nutmeg, cinnamon, or cardamom to the rum butter. It looks very impressive when you serve a mug of this rum with a long cinnamon stick inserted into the quickly melting butter, which guests can use to stir it.

Ingredients

  • Rum 15 fl oz
  • Butter 5 oz
  • Muscovado Sugar 1 cup
  • Date honey ¾ cup
  • Ground clove 2 pieces

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Place the cloves and a little sugar in a mortar. Grind them as finely as possible.

Step 2

Soften the butter at room temperature in a deep bowl. Whip with a mixer until fluffy. While the mixer is running, add the sugar with the cloves and the remaining sugar. Then, pour in the honey in a thin stream.

Step 3

The next steps should be done at the table where the guests are seated. Pour 40 ml of rum into heatproof transparent mugs, then fill with boiling water, leaving about 3 cm from the top.

Step 4

Add a large tablespoon of clove butter to each cup and serve immediately.
