Description

Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • Milk 15 fl oz
  • Corn Flour for Polenta 1 tablespoon
  • 70% Dark Chocolate 5 oz
  • Sugar to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Heat the milk over medium heat until it starts to gently simmer, then reduce the heat to the lowest setting and add the chocolate, broken into small pieces (it's better to place the chocolate in the freezer for a couple of hours beforehand, as the cold enhances its flavor). Stir the contents of the pot until the mixture is smooth and reaches a gentle simmer with soft bubbling.

Step 2

Add sugar and thicken with cornmeal. To prevent lumps from forming, it's helpful to first add a little hot liquid to a tablespoon of the cornmeal, turning it into a paste, and then use this paste to thicken the remaining chocolate.

Step 3

Pour the prepared chocolate into cups and serve immediately.
