- Rye Bread ¼ piece
- Sugar 4 tablespoons
- Water 5 qt

Step 1
Cut the bread into cubes, dry it, and toast it well in the oven or on a skillet.
Step 2
Place the croutons in a jar or pot and pour in the water. Add the sugar and mix thoroughly.
Step 3
Put the vessel with the kvass mixture in a warm place, preferably in the sun, and leave it for three days.
Step 4
After that, strain the kvass, leaving some sediment at the bottom, add the croutons, pour in more water, add sugar, and let it steep again.
