Homemade Mushroom Burgers

Ingredients

  • Lean Beef 10 oz
  • Hamburger Bun 4 pieces
  • Potato 1 piece
  • Cheshire Cheese 4 slices
  • Courgette 1 piece
  • Onion ¼ piece
  • Mayonnaise 5 tablespoons
  • Fresh Mushrooms 6 pieces
  • Mustard Greens 1 tablespoon
  • Ketchup 3 tablespoons
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Chop the onion into small pieces and sauté until golden. Add the sliced mushrooms and fry until golden brown. Transfer to a bowl and mix with mayonnaise and mustard (set aside some mayonnaise and mustard for spreading on the buns). Mix well.

Step 2

Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, and knead it well in a bowl. Form 4 flat, thin patties from the beef. Fry them in a well-heated skillet with a minimal amount of oil, pressing down with a spatula to prevent them from puffing up. Once a brown crust forms on one side, flip and continue frying, pressing down with the spatula, until the second side is browned. The patties are thin, so they cook quickly.

Step 3

When the patties are browned, remove the skillet from heat, place a slice of cheese on each patty, and cover with a lid. This will melt the cheese by the time the burger is assembled.

Step 4

Lightly toast the buns in a toaster or oven.

Step 5

Slice the large tomato into rings. Aim for thin slices, with 1 ring per burger. Slice the cucumber into rounds (3-4 rounds for each burger).

Step 6

Spread mayonnaise mixed with mustard on the bottom bun, layer with cucumber, then the cheese-topped patty, followed by the mushroom mixture, tomato, and the top bun spread with ketchup. Repeat for each burger.
