Description

When making the syrup, you can add a small stick of cinnamon (or a pinch in powdered form), a small piece of vanilla pod, or enhance the flavor of the lemonade with spicy lime zest. You can make an 'adult lemonade' by adding a bit of gin to the rosemary, and a drop of any citrus liqueur to the mint. The syrup and juice yield about one liter. If diluted with water to taste, you get about 3 liters of lemonade.

Ingredients

  • Lemon 6 pieces
  • Sugar 15 oz
  • Water 0 fl oz
  • Salt a pinch
  • Mint to taste
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • Vanilla salt to taste
  • Orange zest to taste
  • Gin to taste
  • Herbal liqueur 0 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Peel the zest from two lemons, ensuring no white part remains, and cut it into thin strips.

Step 2

Place a pot on the stove, mix sugar with water, add the zest, and boil for 5 minutes.

Step 3

Remove from heat, let it cool slightly, and add a few mint leaves. Once the syrup is completely cooled, you can refrigerate it.

Step 4

Juice the six lemons, retrieve the fully chilled syrup from the refrigerator, strain it (to remove the zest), and mix it with the lemon juice.

Step 5

You can dilute the resulting concentrated drink with water or unsalted sparkling mineral water, and you can add ice.

Step 6

When serving, you can garnish the lemonade with a slice of lemon or orange, fresh mint leaves, or a sprig of rosemary, which adds a savory touch.
