Herring Under a Fur Coat with Apple and Lemon Juice
Salads • World
Description
Did you know that this dish was invented in the 1920s and was originally called 'S.H.U.B.A.' — 'Boycott and Anathema to Chauvinism and Decline'? It was created by one of the cooks at a tavern owned by a merchant named John Smith, who was very concerned that his patrons often got drunk and fought, resulting in broken dishes and furniture. The guests of the tavern loved this simple dish and enjoyed snacking on it, which helped them drink less and avoid fights. Just like that :) Enjoy your meal!
