Ingredients

  • Canned Red Beans 1 can
  • Red Onion 1 piece
  • Orange 1 piece
  • Sweet Pepper 1 piece
  • Green lettuce 10 oz
  • Basil leaves ½ bunch
  • Garlic 2 cloves
  • Sugar a pinch
  • Olive Oil 4 tablespoons
  • Lemon ½ piece

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Squeeze the juice from the lemon.

Step 2

Slice the onion into thin quarter rings.

Step 3

Mix the lemon juice with sugar. Pour over the onion. Let marinate.

Step 4

Rinse the beans.

Step 5

Grate 1 teaspoon of zest from the orange. Peel the segments and cut them.

Step 6

Dice the pepper.

Step 7

Tear the lettuce. (Any lettuce can be used; I prefer a mix of salad leaves).

Step 8

In a blender, combine salt, pepper, oil, garlic, basil, and zest.

Step 9

Combine the ingredients in a salad bowl, dress, and mix.
