Frisée, endive, and celery salad with fennel vinaigrette
Ingredients
- Nigella Seeds 2 teaspoons
- Olive Oil ¼ cup
- Shallot 1 piece
- Meyer Lemon Juice 3 tablespoons
- Salt 1 teaspoon
- Sugar ½ teaspoon
- Romaine lettuce 10 oz
- Endive 3 heads
- Celery stalk 3 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Place the fennel seeds in a spice grinder and lightly crush them, but do not turn them into powder. Transfer to a small bowl and add the olive oil. Mix well and let sit for 15 minutes.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine the lemon juice, chopped shallot, salt, and sugar, and stir until the salt and sugar dissolve. While lightly whisking the mixture with the shallot, slowly pour in the fennel oil.
Step 3
In a large bowl, add the finely chopped frisée and celery, then drizzle with the vinaigrette and mix well.
