Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a small bowl, dissolve the cocoa powder in hot water. Let it cool slightly.

Step 2

In a saucepan, whisk together the eggs, cream, milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Add the dissolved cocoa and mix until smooth.

Step 3

Melt a piece of butter in a skillet. Cut the bread into evenly thick slices. Carefully dip the bread pieces into the chocolate-egg mixture and fry in the skillet like French toast. The toast should be well cooked but still soft.
