Description
A Levantine, Syrian-Lebanese salad where the freshness of vegetables is complemented by the crunch of toasted pita bread. The main ingredients, aside from the bread, are herbs, tomatoes, and radishes. Unlike tabbouleh, these ingredients should be chopped quite coarsely.
Ingredients
- Tomatoes 10 oz
- Radish 4 pieces
- Cucumbers 5 oz
- Romaine lettuce 1 piece
- Fresh Mint 0 oz
- Parsley 0 oz
- Pita 3 pieces
- Sumac 1 tablespoon
- Garlic 1 clove
- Lemon ½ pieces
- Olive Oil 0 fl oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Drizzle the pita with olive oil and toast it in the oven for five minutes at 390°F.
Step 3
Once it cools down, break it into small pieces.
Step 4
Dice the cucumbers into large cubes.
Step 5
Do the same with the tomatoes.
Step 6
Slice the radishes into thin rounds.
Step 7
Chop the mint and parsley, and roughly chop the romaine.
Step 8
Mix the vegetables and herbs.
Step 9
For the dressing, mix 50 ml of oil, the juice of half a lemon, sumac, and garlic pressed through a garlic press.
Step 10
Mix the salad, dressing, pita, and sumac.
Step 11
Serve.
