Egyptian Salad 'Mallawi'

Ingredients

  • Feta cheese 5 oz
  • Courgette 1 piece
  • Sweet Red Onion ½ piece
  • Parsley ½ bunch
  • Dill ½ bunch
  • Fresh Mint ½ bunch
  • Olive Oil 2 tablespoons
  • Meyer Lemon Juice 0 fl oz
  • Ground Cumin ½ teaspoon
  • Ground Black Pepper a pinch
  • Mild Chili Spice to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Mash the feta cheese with a fork, add lemon juice, olive oil, and black pepper, and mix well.

Step 2

Dice the cucumber and red onion.

Step 3

Finely chop all the herbs.

Step 4

Grind the cumin.

Step 5

Add everything to the feta cheese and mix. Use a ring mold or something similar (if available) to shape and garnish with mint leaves.

Step 6

If fresh herbs are not available, they can be replaced with dried ones.

Step 7
