Dushparka with Cranberries
Beverages • European
Description
To make the flavor lighter, dark beer can be replaced with light beer, and the amount of honey can be increased by 2 to 4 times. Ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, and St. John's wort are good spices to use.
Ingredients
- Honey 5 oz
- Dark Ale 15 fl oz
- Cranberry 5 oz
- Lingonberry 5 oz
- Spices to taste
- Rice Sweet Wine 5 fl oz
- Sugar to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Combine honey, beer, berries, and spices in a pot.
Step 2
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.
Step 3
Simmer for 15 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally.
Step 4
Strain the resulting brew through cheesecloth or a fine sieve.
Step 5
Squeeze the berries dry, pour the liquid into the dushparka, and discard the berries: they are no longer needed.
Step 6
Pour all the liquid back into the pot. Add the wine.
Step 7
If desired, sweeten the drink with sugar. Stir well.
Step 8
Heat the dushparka on the stove, but do not bring it to a boil — as soon as the first bubbles appear, quickly remove from heat.
Step 9
Pour the dushparka into glasses or cups.
Step 10
Serve hot or warm. Optionally, you can drink it through a straw or add pieces of fresh fruit or berries to the glass for aroma.
