Description

You don't need to cook frozen berries for a long time, otherwise they will become mushy and some of the beneficial nutrients will be destroyed. If you don't like berries in the compote, you can strain them through a fine sieve to remove the seeds from the strawberries and add the strawberry puree to the compote. You can adjust the sugar to taste, adding more or reducing the amount.

Ingredients

  • Freeze-dried strawberry powder 15 oz
  • Frozen black currant puree 5 oz
  • Water 5 qt
  • Sugar 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Remove the frozen berries from the freezer. Rinse them under running water.

Step 2

Place a pot of water on the stove and add the sugar. Bring the syrup to a boil.

Step 3

Add the frozen berries to the boiling syrup.

Step 4

Bring the compote of frozen strawberries to a boil, cook for 2–3 minutes, then turn off the heat.

Step 5

Before serving, cool the compote to room temperature.
