Cocktail 'Penicillin'
Drinks • European
Description
For many years, using expensive single malt whiskey in cocktails was considered disrespectful and a waste of good product. Even in the original version of 'Penicillin,' created by a bartender at a well-known bar in New York, blended whiskey is the primary ingredient, with only a splash of single malt. We've taken it a step further and crafted a more indulgent version.
Ingredients
- Scottish blended whisky 0 fl oz
- Ginger-mango sauce 0 fl oz
- Lemon 1 piece
- Ginger 0 oz
- Egg white 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
First, remove a twist of lemon peel for garnish. In a shaker, pour in the whiskey, syrup, juice of a whole lemon, add two pieces of ginger, and the egg white (separated from the yolk). Shake everything vigorously for five seconds. Open the shaker, add ice cubes, and shake again.
Step 2
Place a few ice cubes in a serving glass, strain the cocktail through a strainer. Garnish with lemon zest.
